Tuesday Skincare: Facial Cleansing

It has taken me so long to do skin care, beauty and make up posts because I've been battling poor facial skin for sometime now. It seemed the blackheads were waiting for me on the other side of twenty so that since I crossed over my facial skin has been very imperfect. But, I think I've finally found products that work near magic on them. My skin has cleared up considerably.
It was worse than this:
The Products:
I was using the Petal Fresh Botanical Aloe and Peppermint Facial Cleanser with a facial scrub for a long while and didn't see much improvement in my facial skin. I went to Med Plus in the Adeniran Ogunsanya Shopping Complex looking to buy a well touted mattifier I'll tell you about in another post when I saw the Dr. Organic Bioactive Skincare Organic Tea Tree Pure Oil below. I'd already read about the many benefits of tea tree oil so I snatched it up the moment I saw it. I also impulse-bought two from the three step Grace Cole Skin Care System and I do not regret making the purchase at all.
I first applied the Dr. Organic Tea Tree Oil neat to my face at night as the last application after cleansing, but the smell is intense, so, after about three days I stopped.
I only now apply it neat to an acne and it clears up in two days precisely.
I added a few drops to the Petal Fresh facial cleanser.

For about a month now I've maintained the following skin care routine:
* First, I cleanse with the Petal Fresh Botanical Stimulating Aloe and Peppermint Facial Cleanser which now contains a few drops of Dr. Organic Bioactive Skincare Organic Tea Tree Pure Oil.
* Next, I scrub with the Grace Cole Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Smoothing Facial Scrub
* Lastly, I dry my face a bit, then, I apply the Grace Cole Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Balancing Cleansing Tonic to tone my facial skin.

The improvement of my facial skin has been very encouraging. The appearance of blackheads on my face has greatly reduced and old ones have cleared away significantly.

PS: I want to say that toning my skin with a cleansing tonic does not refer to skin brightening or bleaching. Toning with a cleansing tonic simply means removing product residues from the cleanser and the scrub used. You can read about it here
Please remember that skin care is very subjective; what works for me might not work for you the same way.

I am currently loving the Himalaya scrub and daily cream. The cream makes my skin radiate, and it never radiates! :D
